A lot of people don’t know how to get the most out of what we do on Twitter, so I thought I’d mention a few helpful things.
Tips for getting the most from @TweetSmarter:
First up, when you read a great article found from a Tweet, comment on it or check out the author on Twitter. We tweet things from thousands of different Twitter users each year. It’s a great way to find good people to connect to. To get the most out of our Twitter account, remember these three tips:
- Anyone can tweet us a question about Twitter when they need help, you don’t need to follow us. We try to respond to everyone that tweets us with a comment or problem.
- We maintain two other places for the most popular information we share. Highlights of our most popular tweets can be found at @TwitterBulletin in tweet form, and in newsreader form at http://bit.ly/TweetSmarterBest.
- If you find we tweet too much, unfollow us and follow @TwitterBulletin instead. If you just want to catch up from time to time, read TweetSmarterBest (or just read through @TwitterBulletin).
So, why should you follow @TweetSmarter?
- Probably the most common reason is that we tweet a lot of warnings and alerts regarding Twitter and popular internet services like Facebook and Gmail that you would miss if you didn’t follow us.
- We provide the best content anywhere on mastering Twitter, and occasionally related content about blogging and social media. Reading the tweets we find for you is, by itself, one of the best Twitter/Social Media courses you can put yourself through. A LOT of people tell me they have a separate column in their Twitter client just for our tweets.
- We try to tweet truly exceptional, fresh content at all times, and so retweeting our tweets can get YOU retweeted more often
- It allows us to DM you if you need help with a problem, and you don’t want to make it public, or you need to write several tweets and you don’t want to clutter up your timeline with them all.
- Even if you don’t click the links we share, you can keep up on what’s happening in the Twitterverse just by reading a few of our Tweets each day.
- We share a lot of the funniest tweets about Twitter, two or three each day.

Thank you Dave and Sarah for all your invaluable hints and tips. They’ve certainly helped to enhance my twitter experience and solved many a mystery in twitterdom. I certainly will NOT be unfollowing you and often retweet your tweets. Keep it up!

I have a separate column for @TweetSmarter.
You’re not the only one
Definitely not
.
Great summary here Dave, especially the reference to @TweetBulletin is a great one if one thinks it is too much.
I’ll change just about anything if I think it will help me help more people
For the record. I love your posts. The business ones don’t apply much at this point but the personal ones and the safety/scam ones are universal.
Thanks, Connie. It is a bit tricky mixing in articles helpful to both business and personal users. We probably could label them a bit better.
It wont let me DM you..
Since your tweets are protected, we can’t DM you until you approve our follow request
I’m sold. I just followed you because you have great content.
We work hard 24x7x365 to find it! There are a lot of helpful folks out there who write good stuff, and we try to find them all
